This classic Appalachian Oval Style Mountain Dulcimer has a beautiful folk voice that is true to the early sounding dulcimers. This Dahlonega Dulcimers masterpiece hand crafted by Tim Wilson. This dulcimer is available in cherry and in walnut as an option.. Tim uses only solid wood in his dulcimers. The scroll head is crafted out of three pieces of wood with the center piece being oak giving a nice contrasting highlight, and it has geared tuning pins. The dulcimer is 30 inches long, 7 inches wide and the box is 1-9/16 inches deep. The fret board is 22 inches long and has half -note frets at the 6 1/2 and 13 1/2 positions. The top has two classic f note sound holes and two small round sound holes. Another feature is a hidden hitch pin for the strings. The bottom is quarter sawn, book matched cherry. The finish is multiple coats of hand rubbed shellac and a fine grade carnuba wax. A wide range of tunnings include D-A-D.
